Piano Flat

The weather has been so lovely and as we had the girls home it was great to get out on some day trips, one was to Piano Flat, an hour and a half from home and in the 30 years we have lived here a place we have never visited.  It turned out to be so beautiful!!

a beautiful river...

very tranquil...just the odd wee leaf wending it's way downstream.

Beech Forest down to the water's edge with lichen dripping from the branches...

...magical light shining through the trees...

...pretty wildflowers...

very christmassy for our southern hemisphere festive season.

...and not a piano to be seen!!  will have to look into the story behind the name.

This is definitely a place to be revisited....maybe even take the caravan too...
